New Golden Orra Single

Andy Ingram

On July 10, 2020, Cincinnati's cute and oddball Golden Orra will be releasing another new single, "Demon". Look for it in digital stores and streamers everywhere. The single, of course, features former Floral drummer and Mary Kate and Trashley mastermind Alexander Scaglia. Again he is joined by Jimmy Rice on bass and Joey Cook (Joey Joesph, Pomegranates) recording, adding synths and tambourine. And if we can get even more indie rock geeky, Pomegranate and Sabbath Recording owner Jacob Merritt joins in on drums.

You can hear the single now courtesy of Poptek. You can pre-order it as well from your favorite digital retailer.

On that same day look for the previous Valetine's single "Can't Get Enough" available on streamers and in digital retailers for the first time.

THE FLORALS ARE DEAD NOW is out today!

Andy Ingram

The new EP from THE FLORALS is out today, "The Florals Are Dead Now". Buy it or stream it from iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, Amazon Unlimited, Google Play, poptek.com, and any other digital retailer you prefer. Unfortunately this marks the end for THE FLORALS, the distance between Springfield and Cincinnati is too great to make work.

They go out with three great pop songs. And watch for the new band ONCE A PINE, featuring more of Brenna's songs, voice, guitar work, and impressive talent.

A Poptek Pizza Party.

Andy Ingram

As we have done a few times before, we are throwing a Poptek Pizza Party at the wonderful South Park Tavern in Dayton. Not only is it a friendly place to play, they serve Pizza Factory pizza that is so so tasty. Join us this Saturday February 27 for friendship, melody, and good food. It's free and all-ages.

Dustin Smith opens up the music at 9:30 PM. Jill + Micah (+ Andy + Gigi + Brenna + Alex) play their first show with a full-band and their first show in Dayton. You can hear a good preview of what their album is going to sound like when it releases in March. Finally The Florals cap off the night. If you haven't seen The Florals yet, then you will be amazed.

A Flurry of Shows.

Andy Ingram

We have some nice shows coming up that we are excited to take part in. The biggest news is that THE FLORALS have been invited to play SonFest. The fest happens September 26 at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio and will probably be the biggest crowd the duo has played to before.

The second biggest news is that we are COMMUNIVALING again this year. Yes, I just turned our annual musical picnic into a verb. We are switching locations though, from the dreamy Palassi Farm in Yellow Springs, Ohio to the equally dreamy Scaglia Compound in Springfield, Ohio. So on October 3, consider yourself invited to our favorite show of the year.

Lastly, the great and independent radio station CD 102.5 FM in Columbus recently created a venue called The Big Room Bar. JILL + MICAH have been invited to play there on September 11 with The Salty Caramels.

So if you are in the area, we really hope you come out and take in the melodies we love to make and share.

THE FLORALS play CHICAGO.

Andy Ingram

The lovable THE FLORALS continue to get around as they have been invited to play with ADVANCE BASE for his Chicago release show. DANCE BULLIES are hosting the show. So come see the duo Tuesday August 11 at The Burlington Bar if you live in or near that great Widwestern metropolis.

THE FLORALS make a video.

Andy Ingram

Putting in a late night after the Canton show at Buzzbin, The Florals recorded a new, unreleased song with Across the Viaduct's Steven Turner at the board. Ian Baldwin went on tour with them and provided the beautiful cinematography. You can see and hear "Pep Talk" by clicking on the Source link below.

THE FLORALS tour starts today.

Andy Ingram

We are giddy for THE FLORALS to hit the road today for their first tour. It's short still but that just means we won't be grumpy at the end of it.

So please, please, please join us if you live around Kent (Friday the 22) or Canton (Saturday the 23) or Pittsburgh (Sunday the 24) or Brooklyn (Tuesday the 26) or in the Middle of Pennsylvania (Saturday the 30). We would love to see you and meet you and share some pop songs.

THE FLORALS in stores.

Andy Ingram

THE FLORALS self-titled debut is available in Dayton-area stores today. Omega Music in Dayton, Toxic Beauty in Yellow Springs, and Champion City Guide & Supply in Springfield all now carry the CD. Of course you can also buy the CD or digital album from us directly in the Poptek Shop. And you can listen to the album before you buy by just clicking on our Albums tab above.

THE FLORALS release their self-titled debut.

Andy Ingram

Poptek is excited and proud to release the debut full-length from THE FLORALS. We love this endearingly odd, mature-beyond-their-years duo from Springfield, Ohio.

Their record release party happens Friday April 17 in Springfield. The self-titled CD can be had then or on the following Tuesday from record stores local to Dayton, OH.

Finally the release will be available digitally on Tuesday May 12 from digital stores around the world.
